General Information

The Adopt-A-Cop program originated in London England and was started by the Metropolitan Police.  The program was started at Parkview during 1993 and has been active ever since.

The Voorhees Township Police adopted this program in 2000.  We adopted the third grade students at each elementary school in Voorhees Township.

Officer Ken Barrett is assigned to Osage School

Officer April Herrington is assigned to ET Hamilton School

Officer Chris Tomasco is assigned to Signal Hill School

Sgt. Brian Randazzo is assigned to Kresson School

Each officer visits their school on a monthly basis and discusses various safety topics and shows movies staring “McGruff” the crime dog.  This is an informal, voluntary initiative for schools and our police department to foster trust, encourage mutual respect and build healthy relationships.
