How can I get my car
out of impound?If a person’s vehicle was
impounded, the owner must go to the Police Administration Building
and present a valid driver license, a valid registration card and a
valid insurance card. If you intend to have the vehicle towed from
storage, you must advise the officer when getting a release form
signed and authorized for release (releases are only given to the

your call was involved in an accident, you may want to contact your
insurance company prior to removing it from impound. Impound

How can I obtain
Police statistics?
The Voorhees
Township Uniform Crime Statistics are available through this website.
Follow the web link to the
Statistics
web page. The general classifications are meant to be general
categories for reporting crimes that are committed throughout the
United States to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. State statutes
must be very specific in defining crimes so that persons facing
prosecution will know the exact charges being filed against them. On
the other hand, the definitions used for reporting crimes to the
Federal Bureau of Investigation must be generic in order not to
exclude varying state statutes relating to the same type of crime.
Accordingly, the offense definitions are based on the common-law
definitions found in Black's Law Dictionary, as well as those
used in the
Uniform
Crime Reporting Handbook and the NCIC Uniform Offense
Classifications.

What is the
Open Public Public Records Act?
The Open Public Records Acts or OPRA is
a new state law that was enacted to give the public greater access
to government records maintained by public agencies in New Jersey.
The public has the right under OPRA to examine or obtain copies of
those public records that are not subject to exceptions from
disclosure. Under OPRA, all levels of New Jersey government are
required to produce records, when properly requested. Certain
records are considered exceptions. OPRA expands the intent of the
Right to Know law by re-defining what records are available to the
public, by setting standards for accessing those records, and
penalties for failing to disclose them. In order to access
records, a person must first submit an
OPRA Request form
to the police department. Request for information is subject to
approval. Fees apply.
