The
HEADSMART Program involves the Voorhees Police interacting with
neighborhood children by giving them a reward for wearing their
helmets.
Since 2002,
Voorhees Police Officers on patrol, stop and talk to children who
are caught acting “HEADSMART” by wearing their helmets while
bicycling, skateboarding, or rollerblading.
The HEADSMART
program is presented each year to the four Voorhees Elementary
Schools, during a bike safety assembly, given by Voorhees Police
Officers. Kids are given the the option to choose either a free water ice coupon from Diane’s
Water Ice, a free slice of cheese pizza from Passariello’s Pizza
or a free round of mini golf from Pleasant Valley Mini Golf all
located in Voorhees. Kids 17 years and younger may be rewarded
for wearing their helmets and staying safe.
The Voorhees
Township Police would like to Thank Pleasant Valley Mini Golf, located on Route.
73 near Cooper Road, Diane’s Water Ice, located on Evesham Ave. and Passariello’s Pizza, located on Laurel Oak Rd. for joining our
efforts to encourage kids to be safe and obey the law.
