Social Media Terms of Use

The Voorhees Police Department’s social media platforms and email accounts are intended to serve as  mechanisms for communication between the public and the Voorhees Police Department, on the listed topics, and is designated as a Limited Public Forum to further the mission of the Department.  They are not monitored 24/7/365 like our phone lines and 911.

The Voorhees Police Department is not responsible for any postings or comments deemed inappropriate that cannot be removed in a timely fashion.  Our social media platforms and email accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day, therefore, sending emails requesting police services or commenting/engaging with the Voorhees Police Department Facebook page, Twitter, YouTube, Nextdoor, and other social media platforms is not permitted for requests for services.  The proper mechanism for requesting police services is via telephone (911 emergency/856-428-5400 non-emergency/856-627-7174 anonymous tip line) or responding to the Voorhees Police Headquarters at 1180 White Horse Road.

We encourage members of the public to like/follow our pages and respectfully interact and share ideas as long as they follow our Terms of Use.  Prior to posting comments on our Limited Public Forums, users must review and agree to the Community Standards of Facebook, Twitter, and any other social media platforms being utilized by the Voorhees Police Department and the user via their respective sites and also the Terms of Use of the Voorhees Police Department.  A submitted comment or posting on our social media pages shall constitute an acknowledgement and agreement to these standards. The Voorhees Police Department has a right to report violations of social media community standards to the respective host sites (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) where the post has been made.

Denial of Access

The Voorhees Police Department welcomes a person’s right to express his or her opinion.  However, all comments and posts to our pages are monitored and reviewed by the Department for compliance with our terms of use.  The Voorhees Police Department reserves the right to restrict, remove or delete any comments or posts found to be in violation of our guidelines.

Individuals who follow the Voorhees Police Department’s social media platforms and repeatedly violate the

terms of use, may be banned and prohibited from posting future comments.

Terms of Use Guidelines

Consistent with the purpose of this Limited Public Forum, prohibited content includes but is not limited to the following comments or posts that contain:

  • Profanity, offensive language or sexual content
  • Discriminatory language or promotes discrimination based on race, color, creed, age, gender, religion, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation or gender identity or expression
  • Commercial solicitations or links
  • Links to websites that may be offensive or inappropriate
  • Information/items protected by law, executive order, or court order/rulings.
  • Spam
